“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”

– Jon Kabat-Zinn –

This year’s retreat is dedicated to cultivating mindfulness and self-compassion in a supportive and contemplative environment at the Tannenhof Temple, just outside Munich.
The idea for this year’s gathering emerged from the reflections and conclusions of last year’s retreat.

Infused with contemplative Buddhist wisdom, this retreat focuses on cultivating clarity, present-moment awareness, emotional balance, and a kind and supportive relationship with oneself.

Mindfulness is the practice of meeting life as it unfolds with clarity and presence.
Self-compassion brings warmth and understanding to our inner experience, especially in moments of difficulty.

Throughout the weekend, we will explore how these two qualities support each other helping us relate more skillfully to thoughts, emotions, and habitual patterns.

The practices will integrate inner and outer methods.
Working from both the body and the mind, we will explore how mindful movement, breath, and meditation can support greater presence, clarity, and emotional balance.

Through guided meditation, gentle asana, breath awareness, and reflective inquiry, we will explore how mindfulness can help dissolve habitual patterns and how self-compassion can become a stable inner resource in daily life.

This retreat is open to both new and returning students. Whether you are beginning your mindfulness journey or deepening an established practice, you are warmly welcome.
